The Reiki taught in Reiki I and II is traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho (Usui Reiki), however, during the attunement process I do incorporate the Tibetan symbols and violet Breathe, therefore, students are attuned to both Traditional Usui & Tibetan Lineages of Reiki. Those that decide to become a Reiki Master also learn the Tibetan Reiki symbols and violet breathe technique used primarily in the attunement process.
The style that I practice on myself and my clients is highly intuitive, I pull on all the Reiki tools I've learned over the years and I intend and allow Reiki to be my guide. I like to say, "I dance with Reiki". The flow comes naturally and is both subtle and powerful. In Japanese this technique is called Chiryo and is considered the 3rd Pillar of Reiki.

Japanese: beginner teachings
In first degree the seeds of Reiki are planted and begin to grow. This allows you to tap in and begin to channel the life force energy through the laying-on-of-hands. We learn:
It's important to know that Reiki comes from the higher planes, it is spiritual energy, "the force", what ever you would like to call it. In knowing this, when you work on others you are NOT using your own life force, you are simply channeling it through your intention and out of your hands. Because of this, it will not deplete you but often times will assist you as you provide it to others.
First degree Reiki for me was sweet. I had no profound experience (though I know many have) other then being able to feel a subtle buzzing and warmth in my hands. I wanted to be the best, most powerful practitioner and it took me some years to learn that my EGO was very active and in control of my motivations. I had good intentions to use Reiki to heal the world but learned that it is not mine to heal. We are in charge of our own healing, no one can decide this but us.

Second degree Reiki is really cool. Here we learn:
The Reiki within gets stronger and you most likely begin working more with Reiki. Through the use of laying on of hands, you begin to deepen your experience with Reiki and build somewhat of an etheric vocabulary. This is the perfect time to begin keeping a Reiki journal of everyone you work with so that you can refer back later to use as a guide.
During my years of working with second degree Reiki, I really started having some interesting experiences with my clients. Some were subtle and some were profound. This is when I began to realize Angels and healing guides are real because I actually could feel them come into my treatment room and when they do, my body gets so so hot. I experience angelic assistance in different ways, but it always shows up in the most perfect manner for that specific session . I had one absolutely profound experience with a women I was working on and one of the Arch Angels (ask me and I'll tell you about it).
Reiki is limitless, we are the only thing that can limit what Reiki is able to do.

Becoming a Reiki Master is you deciding to be a force for good for others, in your life and the world at large. Here you have been working with Reiki for at least a year and are feeling ready to take the next step. You will know when it's time because the Reiki will guide you. Reiki Master attunement is about a deeper understanding and the final two master symbols. At this point you learn how to attune others into the Reiki Method of Healing.
I've read that the Reiki you are able to channel can increase 1000 fold but this was not the case for me. I feel that was because I was using Reiki so much already in a healing environment that I hit the pinnacle of how much I could feel flowing through me. What really resonated with me the most in receiving my Master attunement was learning that it is now more about becoming Reiki rather then doing Reiki and being able to teach others.
The Reiki Masters I have studied with did not split the Master attunement into two separate attunements but I can see why many Masters do it this way. I was not ready to teach others until a year after my Master attunement with a bunch of self study. My teachers live in other places and it was not easy for me to pop in and see them. So I do feel that it would be appropriate to split the Master attunement into two separate classes for anyone that would prefer to do it this way. The 1st of the two is to teach you and attune you to the Master Symbols. The 2nd would be to teach you how to attune others.
