In many Native American traditions, the medicine wheel begins in the South.  However, in many other world traditions, ceremonial work begins in the East with the Rising Sun.  Beginning in the East feels correct for me and so we will begin there.  East is spring, emerald green color & light, new beginnings, new chapters, new life, the third eye chakra and subconscious mind, memory, guardian Spirits of the east, which include; Eagle, Condor, raptures of the sky, elementals of Air/Wind, and Archangel Raphael whom oversees all other spirits of the East. The East exists because Raphael holds this cardinal direction from the center, from the Unity, the great Spirit in All Things.

Emerald green is the color for physical healing, soothing the body & mind, manifesting healing, manifesting abundance and thought itself.  In the east we clear the Third Eye and receive the gift of inner vision.  This allows us to access our subconscious mind where memory is stored.  Our past traumas are here and they cause all the mental road blocks we have operating within us.  Once we clear, purify, open and activate the third eye, you will be be able to journey to your Power Animal whom walks with you and is one of your Spirit Guardians.  Now the healing journey begins.  

A principle of Reiki that is essential for healing is "There must be a shift in consciousness for healing to occur".  I sat with this for years and didn't fully understand what it meant until studying shamanism.  There is a spiritual reason everything single negative event occurs in a person life.  When we drop our ego and become the neutral scientist of our own lives, we can ask our Higher Mind, "Why did I go through this event?  Why did I have to feel this emotion from this trauma?".  If you can surrender in your heart and ask why with no preconceived notions, then the Higher Mind will tell you why you experienced the things you have.  This demonstrates the Reiki Principle for Healing, "There must be a shift in consciousness for healing to occur".

I find some people have a hard time with this and it can cause anger if the attachment to the preconceived notice is strong.  We must surrender the Ego, put down our swords and claim the path of self mastery if we wish to heal and reclaim our joy and peace.
